| WORKING HEIGHTS |
All working heights are only given for information purposes.
The working height corresponds to the height an average man can reach with his arms raised. How to chose equipment adapted to the working height you want to reach?
On a ladder :
Working height = ladder at full length + a minimum of 90cm to 1 m.
Example: your working area is 6 meters in height, choose a minimum 5m ladder.
Warning! The access height is different.
Access height = full length - 1 metre.
Example: you need to reach or climb on a ledge located 6 meters in height, choose a 7m ladder minimum.
On a stepladder :
Working height = platform height + 2 m
On a scaffolding
Working height = working platform height + 2 m

| SPLAYED BASE / EQUIPPED WITH STABILISER |
| SPLAYED BASE |
| The ladders with a splayed base present the advantage of being usable on all types of grounds. They ensure an excellent stability on uneven grounds. They are the only one to benefit from the NF seal, a guarantee of quality for individuals and professionals. |

| EQUIPPED WITH STABILISER |
| Ladders equipped with stabilizer are better suited for use on a level ground. |

| USING YOUR LADDER PROPERLY |
Leaning position
| |
| |
In leaning position, the climbing section should be resting on the ground facing you. Check that your ladder is supported and rests on stable, resistant surfaces of adequate dimensions. Check that the locks and hinges are correctly positioned. |
Minimum safety rail
| |
| |
Always leave a minimum of 3 rungs in front of you as a safety rail |
Optimal inclination
| |
| |
The ladder inclination while leaning is paramount. Too low, it will tend to slip. Too steep, it will tend to fall backwards. You will get the ideal inclination by standing up in front of your ladder with your arms stretched at shoulder height and with your feet touching the base of the ladder.
Practical: The ball level enables you to see at once the right inclination of the ladder.

| CARRYING YOUR LADDER |
| On the roof of your vehicle |
Choose an adapted rack and tie the ladder solidly to it.
- at the front, the length of the ladder must not protrude from the bonnet,
- at the rear, it must not protrude from your vehicle by more than one metre,
- signal the end of the ladder with a reflecting and luminous device for night travel.
| On foot |
The ladder is carried on the shoulder, with one arm or not engaged between the two stiles, and the ladder lowered at the front.
Never carry a ladder:
- by holding it horizontally on your shoulder (it could hurt some one else's face),
- by carrying it with the front part raised (it could get entangled in potential obstacles located at height).
When transporting an extension ladder, ensure that all the safety gears block the sections and that ropes are not dragging on the floor.

| THE VARIOUS TYPES OF STEPLADDERS |
ML 5
| |
| Domestic stepladders |
Generally fitted with riveted steps, a plastic tool tray and anti-slip rubber feet, they are designed for small chores (to reach the top of cupboards, to wash windows, ...) |
M-PRO 5
| |
| The DIY or semi-professional stepladders |
Designed to be used more intensively and to undergo more strain, the Centaure DIY stepladders are fitted with strong and enduring elements to withstand heavy loads and concentrated strength (e.g.: drilling of a concrete wall).
The riveted steps are replaced by crimped steps, that is to say fixed on the inside with aluminium profile (as a ladder rung) for more resistance and a longer life span.

MP 5
| |
| The professional stepladders |
They are designed for daily and intensive use. The steps are strengthened with crossing bars and anti-rotation components in zamac, a hyper resistant alloy.
The stiles are oversized. Hinges and platforms are strengthened.
All the Centaure professional stepladders comply with EN 131 standard and have the NF seal. |

| THE VARIOUS TYPES OF SCAFFOLDINGS |
| |
The domestic scaffoldings |
These are scaffoldings whose use is reserved to private individuals only.
Working height <= 3m.
Designed to be easily set-up, as often pre-assembled, these scaffoldings are real "time savers" for indoor work: ceiling, wall papering ... Their wider work area reduces considerably the number of climbs on and off required to do the job. Light and corrosion resistant as made mostly out of aluminium, they can be used outdoors (for hedge trimming for instance). |
SPEED'UP
| |
| Working height = 3m to 5 m. |
Ideal for medium height work, our scaffoldings are multifunctional aimed at facilitating the work: of those who use them adaptable platform height, gradient compensation (to work on stairs), sliding stabilisers (work close to facades), wheels... |

STEN
| |
| |
Working height up to 5 m. |
| To take on large scale projects in complete safety, these scaffoldings are fitted with all the elements necessary for excellent equipment stability: large beams, stabilisers, skirting, safety guardrails ... |

Aluminium scaffolding provides lightness and endurance avoiding corrosion risks.
The user will choose his/her scaffolding based on the various functions of the scaffolding and on his/her personal needs:
- scaffolding mobility (mobile scaffolding),
- work near a facade (sliding horizontal stabilisers),
- adaptable working height (adaptable platform height, and/or fitting of height extension),
- work on stairs or on garage slopes (gradient compensation feature).
She/He will also watch over the system of assembling the scaffolding: the "automated hands" systems which replace the nuts and bolts are particularly practical. The scaffolding is more easily and rapidly assembled. Furthermore, this system prevents the loss of fastening equipment from one year to the next.
The professionals will take care to choose a scaffolding complying to the legislation in force: standard (EN 1004) for mobile scaffoldings. |
